Hello! My name is feivy; I'm female, British, and twenty years old. I have dabbled with personal websites since I was 14, but never found anything that stuck, so I'm trying this! :)
I'm currently studying for my B.Sc. degree in Geography, and hope to one day work with the environment and sustainability to make a difference. I may go for a Master's or Ph.D someday, but for the moment I'm hoping to save up some money, and more degrees might be overkill for what I want to do.
I was born in Scotland, raised for a bit in Bahrain, then finished raising in England. I learned English from my parents and used to know Arabic, but now I have forgotten most of it, I'm currently learning to speak German through a combination of videogames, TV shows, and the internet. I'm by no means fluent in German but I can hold a conversation pretty well.
Although I enjoy learning about sustainability and I imagine that will be my main source of income, I also have a passion for photography, videography, and streaming, and have been making movies since I was little. Today most of my films are in the form of mini-vlogs for me and my close friends to look back on, but one day I hope to be able to finish some of the ideas that have been churning away in my brain and attempt to make something I'm proud of.
Aside from videography and sustainability, I have areas of interest within a variety of academic fields. I've always been fascinated by psychology, anthropology, evolution, robotics, astronomy, and many more. I'm by no means an expert in any of these fields, but I'll always consume anything I can about them and am always thrilled to improve my understanding. It definitely helps when the person teaching me the topic is enthusiastic about it and is able to get across their enthusiasm about it; I find people doing what they love to make me happy.
Otherwise, I'm pretty passionate about fiction in general. I love D&D and I'm thrilled by the brain's ability to empathise so deeply with characters and stories that are imaginary, and how we can immerse ourselves so deeply in these imaginary worlds. I especially love the emotional depth that comes with well-written characters where the audience can become transfixed with a complex character full of biases, suppressed emotions, and impulses without it being spelled out explicitly in the narrative. I love being able to pick apart what works and doesn't work in a story and I typically view everything with a critical eye, analysing various qualities and how they come together overall.
I'm an ambivert; I often tailor my behaviour to the specific situation and thrive in both group settings and when I'm alone, some days I tend to feel more extroverted and take initiative around strangers, other days I need to stay in bed and recharge under my warm blankets. But I love being with people that I know and can be talkative around my friends. I'm a generally optimistic and positive person and usually tend to avoid conflict (although if you start a debate with me I can argue pretty fiercely).
My brain likes to fixate on things when I discover I love them, whether it be a musician, movie, TV show, videogame or anything else. It tends to fade after a month or two, but in the meantime I tend to be annoyingly unproductive. Other things that hinder my productivity include my excessive perfectionism and multitasking habits. If updates on this website slow down, any combination of these factors is probably to blame in addition to my studies.
